Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI announce Mumbai edition from Mar 9-12

Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), is set to kickstart its first edition of 2023 at Jio World Garden in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The beauty and fashion extravaganza will begin with Sustainable Fashion Day on March 9 and will culminate with the Lakme Grand Finale on March 12, 2023.

The Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI platform in keeping with its tradition will offer two showcase areas (the Runway and the Atelier) for designers to bring their designs to life along with the Central Avenue that will play host to various conversations. The FDCI Showroom aims to attract buyers from across the globe and help design talent to explore business avenues and opportunities, the FDCI, Lakme, and Rise Worldwide said in a joint press release.

Reliance Jewels and Dyson will for the first-time present showcases as they collaborate with Monisha Jaising and Arpita Mehta respectively.

Sustainable Fashion Day (SFD) curations include R|Elan Presents Circular Design Challenge (CDC) in partnership with the United Nations in India that will celebrate five years since its launch and showcase three of its alumni comprising Chamar, Doodlage: Made From Waste, and Iro Iro. SFD will conclude with the KVIC Khadi Show with a presentation by Suket Dhir, Divyam Mehta, Shruti Sancheti, and the Centre of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK).

Some of the other leading designer showcases include Abhishek Sharma, Antar-Agni, Anushree Reddy, Punit Balana, Rina Dhaka, Ranna Gill, Ritika Mirchandani, and Siddhartha Tytler.

Other celebrated and leading designer brands from across the country will be showcasing their collections at the event including Deme, Dhruv Vaish, Eshaa Amiin, Flirtatious by Aakriti, Itrh, Jajaabor, Limerick By Abirr N’ Nanki, Line Outline By Deepit Chugh, Nirmooha, Sahil Aneja, Saisha, Sameer Madan, Shahin Mannan, Tanieya Khanuja, Tisastudio, and Varun Nidhika.

All showcases will continue to be live streamed across the platform’s online streaming partners Jio TV and Voot and LFW and FDCI social media channels to reach Indian and global fashion audiences.
