[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Bona Fide is a new brand to me but I’m so glad to discover it – we are definitely in the realms of luxury candles here, but La Delicate, designed by perfumier Nathalie Feisthauer (who has a very illustrious list of brands she has created fragrances for including Paul Smith, Van Cleef & Arpels and Hermes) is just beautiful.

The first wafts of fragrance from the candle reminded me of rose creams (which I love) – there’s definitely a sweet aspect to this but maybe more importantly is the ‘cream’ element because this fragrance is like a cashmere blanket around you. The other notes, which become apparent later on, are cinnamon, geranium, cedarwood, cardamom and vanilla but the star of this show is definitely the rose. It’s a fragrance that is crafted to be soft as a cloud and that brief is fulfilled.

La Delicate is part of the Les Parfumées collection – there are several options which all have something of the Laduree macaron about them, particularly in shade because each wax is coloured. You might like the sound of L’Elegante with marine, watermelon, jasmine and peach notes or La Gourmande with almond, tonka bean, orange, chocolate, cedarwood and vanilla.

As you can see, the candle holder, which incidentally is made from Limoges porcelain, is illustrated by Armelle Tissier (previous work includes Chanel, Agnes B and Shu Uemura) so you can repurpose as a vase or decorative jar. Yum, yum and yum. Bona Fide is better known for it’s spherical candles – they’re huge – so perfect it’s a struggle to send them on their waxy way by lighting them. I have one here and I’m working myself up to take a match to it and review. Les Parfumee candles are £60 each HERE.
