The monthly variation of the seasonally- and calendar-adjusted general retail trade index (RTI) at constant prices between August and July stood at 0.2 per cent. This was nine tenths higher than the previous month.
Spanish retail sales on a seasonally- and calendar-adjusted basis remained unchanged in August from a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute (INE) recently said. The original retail trade index (RTI) series at constant prices registered an annual variation of 0.8 per cent in August—four points above the rate in the previous month.
All distribution classes showed positive monthly rates, except for department stores, which decreased (minus 0.1 per cent). Single retail stores registered the greatest increase (0.7 per cent).
