[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] So, this isn’t the right foundation for me but I very much see its appeal for anyone who wants more coverage than the ‘dewy’ foundation trend affords. Personally, I prefer Aimee’s Tint & Glow which is dewier and lighter and reminded me in texture of the Chanel CC (and at £23 it’s a budget friendlier alternative HERE).

The shade I was sent is 3.5N and it is PERFECT for my tone. Scultped By Aimee Satin Silk Foundation doesn’t have a hefty feel on the skin – in fact, it’s far more like a tinted moisturiser in feel – with the finish being satin just leaning to the side of matte. Comfort comes from hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, Niacinamide and Centella Asiatica and claims an 8 hour no retouching stay. This rings true to me because at the end of the day when I cleansed with a lotion (lazily, in front of the TV) a lot came away – enough for me to note it. I’m also wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sunkissed Glow Bronzer in Fair which has been out of stock for almost ever and I’ve managed to track in that shade to John Lewis HERE. If you were stalking it, snap it up for next summer – Sephora is out of stock and so is CT (and it was in stock yesterday!).

This is 3.5N with the accompanying concealer in Beige (untested as yet). If I’m really honest, I feel the weight is not right for creating a seamless finish on older skin – you can cut with a moisturiser and then you’d get the benefit of a bit of dewiness as well as diluting the weight but I think the smoother the bare skin, the better this will look when applied. I like to see a lot of light bounce and flexibility on my older skin and I’m not sure it’s quite there with this but if you are plump of cheek and prefer a stronger weight, it’s a good buy at £27 HERE and looks like it’s part of the GWP Boots Heros offer. One thing that Aimee is correct about is that the heavier the foundation the better the match needs to be – it’s stocked at Boots so if you can possibly try it first, do so. Otherwise, you can order a sample sachet for £1.25 HERE – some shades have already sold out.
