[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Just as I was thinking that the Origins Advent Calendar 2022 isn’t the most ‘festive’ thing I’ve seen, I realised that it’s a masterclass in inclusivity. Although advents have their roots in Christianity, there’s no reason why it has to stay that way. I’m all for opening traditions out, especially in beauty where to be honest, there’s literally no good reason that a lipstick in a tear-sheet window should have any significance whatsoever other than for marketing departments and the bottom line. It’s also pretty acceptable for anyone who doesn’t want their Farrow & Ball interior palette sullied by something covered in lurid reindeer or candy canes.
It’s also a (relative) bargain at £99 for £164 of product inside with free delivery. It’s excluded from the current 20% off sitewide that is running (at the time of writing) but it doesn’t look as thought the gift sets are so if you have shopping to do, now is the time. It can’t be just me that’s noticed a big uptick in sale prices so soon across both fashion and beauty – it’s getting obviously competitive out there which is to the benefit of the consumer.
I never do a full reveal but the Origins Advent Calendar 2022 is available on the Origins website if you want to see everything ahead of time – enough to say that Plantscription and Dr Weil Mega Mushroom, which I think are Origins best skin care ranges, heavily feature.
There are some lovely surprises too – a mini Ginger candle, for example, and a mini mask brush, and products look after both face and body.
This feels rather generous in content (apart from the sleep mask which could have been so much better) and the products are actually useful – I could see myself working my way through everything. It’s HERE.
