DyeChem World Ludhiana has planned a half-day seminar that will address important challenges of the textile industry on February 25, 2023, in Dana Mandi. The topics in focus are skilled manpower, chemical compliance, and bio-based solutions for textile manufacturing. The event will offer a common platform to Ludhiana’s textile dyes and chemicals industry.

The event will enable Ludhiana’s textile dyes and chemicals industry to share a common platform. Players in the industry have been investing in new technologies and greener products. Many such innovations will be on display at the event for the textile industry in Punjab and adjoining areas.

Known as the ‘Manchester of Punjab,’ Ludhiana spreads over 159 square kilometres and houses many knitwear and dyeing units. The city has a number of large textile corporates such as Trident, Nahar, Vardhman, Shingora, SportKing, Nivia, Savi, Avani, JCT, Indian Acrylics, among others.

Punjab is growing in importance as a textile manufacturing hub, with three important clusters—Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar. Textile and clothing exports from the three clusters alone amount to around ₹12,000 crore annually. Punjab boasts of over 1,200 textile and apparel manufacturing companies in the state, providing direct employment to 1.2 lakh people. The state has an abundant supply of cotton and MMF. Production of PP and PE is also getting ramped up in the state.

Textile processing companies in Punjab are always in search of standard quality products and technologies that can help them meet environmental norms, achieve value additions, and better margins in the domestic and export markets. DyeChem World Ludhiana has taken cognisance of these needs of the industry.

Textile Excellence, along with the Society of Dyers and Colourists is organising DyeChem World Ludhiana 2023 from February 24–26, 2023. Tiruppur’s NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion and AIC NIFT TEA Incubation Centre for Textiles and Apparels are the co-organisers of the event.
