[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I very rarely use a concealer – I just accept that I have dark circles and leave it at that. It’s not that I haven’t tried concealers over the years – I really have and the only two I really felt did a great job were Dior (the product doesn’t even exist anymore) and L’Oreal Paris. The problem with concealers is that they contain a lot of pigment to do the cover up job and once it hits your skin, the water content evaporates and you’re left with a much drier product than you started with. That’s not a problem if you have smooth as alabaster skin, but any creasing tends to attract the drier product and it ends up emphasising and exacerbating that issue.
I’ve become so cynical about concealing that I really didn’t expect the good result I had from the new Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer. There’s all the marketing hype that we expect from this brand but at the heart, when you strip away all the ‘face lift effects’, ‘instant eye lift’ and ‘wow, wow, wow’ enthusiasm what you’re left with is a very good concealer that on me at least, didn’t settle into creases and actually did provide a concealing result. I’ve screen-grabbed from my Instagram so you can see the result.
It was the first time I’d ever tried it so the result was recorded as I went along. I think that’s pretty good, don’t you? The brush I’m using is the Hourglass Foundation brush which turned out to be the perfect shape for blending out over the eye area.
I was sent 5 Medium and 6 Medium and in the pictures I’m using 5. The concealer is £25 HERE. You can see in the picture I’m using far more than feels reasonable but the blend out was seamless so it turned out to be the right amount. I’m not a true concealer convert yet – I’ve managed all this time without using concealers but let’s just say this went into the ‘keep’ drawer pretty fast and I’m expecting to see it again soon 🙂
