[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m a big fan of bar cleansers (I made my own after all :-)) so I was very interested to try the new CeraVe Hydrating Cleansing Bar. Ideally, it’s for normal to dry skin but I found the effect quite neutral – my skin felt neither dry nor hydrated after trying it which suits me fine – I don’t want my complexion dried out but I don’t expect a cleansing bar to do the job of a moisturiser.
There’s no fragrance so if you’re sensitive (or even if you aren’t!) you can use it on any part of your body. I’d bill this much as I did with my own cleansing bar – an ‘everywhere’ bar. Surprisingly, it contains petroleum which again, isn’t something that bothers me at that low quantity. I don’t find it high foaming – again, no problem there – but it’s got a good ‘melt’ with warm water so immediately you feel you have a solution to work over your skin.
I’m honestly not sure how I’d feel about working this into my lashes (it claims to remove make-up) to get rid of mascara (and didn’t) but I certainly felt it was gently cleansing and removed make-up residue. All in all, this is a reliable bar for skin cleansing with the benefits of hyaluronic and ceramides (under-rated by the beauty industry other than Elizabeth Arden). I love the chunkiness of the bar and the absolute ease of use – portability makes this an ideal holiday product for cutting through SPF and salt and at £8.00 HERE I would regard it as an excellent budget option that does the job beautifully. Boots (where I’m linking to) has a CeraVe offer of 3 for 2 so if you have other things to stock up on, you’ll probably get this free :-).
