[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve wanted to try Boy Smells in one way or another for a long time – it’s just such a cool brand. I’ve got a couple now – Neopeche and Aqua de Jardin – and I’ve started with Neopeche.
Neopeche is part of the Hypernature collection and apart from the wonky label (this is a sample so I’ll make the assumption that in store, this wouldn’t make the shelf) I just absolutely love it. Even the wonky label has a bit of personality (imagining the label sticker having a day when they just could not be bothered and it’s making me smile – we all have those days, right?).
I like the exuberance of the jar – it’s gleaming in a peachy/pink metallic and catches any light so you never miss it. The scent is juicy and fruity with mandarin and peach skin, softly floral with rose, lightly spicy with pink peppercorn and smooth with amber. The candle itself is a beeswax/coconut blend. Listed as the first note is Ultraviolet – a sharper version of the powdery violet we are used to but not quite a violet leaf. It’s not the note my nose went to first though – it came a bit later but blends so seamlessly with peach and rose that it’s more of an enhancer than anything.
Boy Smells Neopeche is a beautiful burn for that sunset hour just before we lose the day – it’s energetic but soothing and an optimistic way to segue into evening. It’s £50 HERE. The brand has recently collaborated with Grace Jones in a full on floral set in a black jar – it’s rather beautiful and is HERE.
