The top 50 logistics firms in the country raked in about 2 trillion yuan in revenue last year, the federation was cited as saying by official Chinese media outlets.
China last year maintained its rank as the world’s largest logistics market for the seventh consecutive year, according to recent China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing data, which showed the total revenue of the country’s logistics sector in 2002 was 12.7 trillion yuan ($1.82 trillion). Social logistics expanded to 347.6 trillion yuan in the year.
To build a modern logistics system, China should work on the digital transformation of its logistics infrastructure, including railways and ports, and promote the integration of resources in the sector, the federation added.
