[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This is my second Boy Smells candle – the first was Neopeche, a luminous floral spice combination that I love. Agua De Jardin, as you can probably guess by its name, is inspired by cool and lush outdoor sanctuaries – places where you can hear smell the calming nature around you.

I’ve got to admit, the shininess of the jar is a big draw for me – I’m immediately more interested in it than I would be if it were clear glass. The scent is definitely verdant and damp which I was expecting – the fig leaves speak loud and clear but more nuanced are notes of nuttiness and florals. I can’t pick out coconut water at all but I guess it’s just joining in to create the overall rather than making a star appearance. It’s musky, that’s for sure but I don’t really get pimento. The aroma infused my sitting room quite quickly – it’s a comfortable fragrance, something that reaches your nose easily and gently.

If I’m honest, I’d have liked something more electric from this – a dash of lime perhaps or something to just lift it more out of the ordinary. It smells more sedate than it looks, which isn’t to say it isn’t pleasant – it very much is. I really like the Boy Smells brand – it just seems so much more adventurous than many other brands at the moment. Their best seller is Hinoki Fantome – a Japanese cypress infused, resinous aroma. I see the brand has branched out into personal fragrance too – I’m intrigued to smell Tantrum! Candles start at £44 HERE. I know that several people bought the Grace Jones collaboration candle supporting the LGBTQ+ community when I mentioned it last time – it’s still around HERE if your nose is craving a blend of black pepper, bergamot, freesia, waterlily and rose.
