During January to November 2022, Jordan’s textile and leather sector touched $338.4 million, which was a rise of 20.2 per cent year-on-year (YoY), as per the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI). JCI’s representative for the sector Ehab Qadri observed that the sector exceeded $2 billion at that time and growth increased by 12 per cent of the average annual growth rate.

The profits earned by the country’s textile and leather sector were credited to activities geared towards the promotion of domestic products in several export markets, especially in the US—Jordan’s biggest market for clothing exports. The US accounts for more than 85 per cent of the sector’s total exports, according to local news reports.
