The institute’s tools and resources, which include its flagship Better Buying Purchasing Practices Index, also known as the Better Buying Partnership Index, and the 5 Principles of Responsible Purchasing framework, provide a fully integrated business solution for brands and retailers looking to get 360-degree feedback on how their purchasing practices are impacting suppliers in their supply chain, according to a press release by Better Buying Institute.
A growing number of global apparel brands that subscribe to Better Buying, collecting supplier data and insights via its unique survey platform, are also members of the SAC, and the two organisations share a focus on measuring progress and impact, and driving transparency on the part of global brands and retailers.
US-based Better Buying Institute has announced that it has joined the SAC as an affiliate member. Better Buying lets suppliers in global supply chains to anonymously rate purchasing practices of the companies that buy their products so that brands and retailers who are looking to improve their purchasing practices know where they need to improve.
“Better Buying looks forward to being an active member of SAC, elevating supplier voices, and driving awareness among SAC members of the value of supplier data in driving industry-wide transformation in relation to purchasing practices,” commented Dr. Marsha Dickson, president and co-Founder of Better Buying Institute.
Dr. Dickson participated in an expert panel at the SAC’s Annual Member Meeting on November 2, exploring diverse approaches to achieving responsible purchasing practices between brands and manufacturers.
